Jacob LevINE

3D Artist, B.F.A., C.S.M.

Lakewood, CO, United States

Hey! My name is Jacob Levine and I am a 3D Artist and Certified Scrum Master!

Since I was young I have always had an affinity for storytelling of all types. Growing up with video games, comic books, and Saturday morning cartoons I realized quickly all the ways in which stories could immerse you and make you feel certain ways. As I grew up I fell more in love with video games and how audio and visuals, clever design, and fun mechanics could be used in combination to create an experience so wholly unique. Mix all that with a coherent story and I truly believe video games can be the greatest form of storytelling.

During my latter years of high school, I enrolled in a game development class where I immediately knew that my dream of making video games was attainable. While I tried my hand at all aspects of development, including programming and design, I found 3d modeling was my calling. From hard surface modeling to organic sculpting I started out focusing on character creation. I find the process of creating a game-ready character from blocking out forms to sculpting high poly details and texturing (even retopologizing and UV mapping) to be rewarding as the challenge each character/project brings is fun to navigate!

From there I went to Savannah, GA to pursue a degree in game art. After graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Interactive Design and Game Development in 2021, I felt emboldened by all I had learned and done! Since graduation I have worked as a contract 3d Artist for Bolder Games where I worked on many great projects ranging from interactive experiences to video games for both projects internal to Bolder Games and outsourced from companies such as Disney! During my time as a contract 3d Artist for Bolder Games I found myself working on all different aspects of 3d art such as sculpting characters, modeling buildings and architecture, cleaning up and reducing polycounts of 3d scan data, retopology, UV mapping, texturing, and level design.

When I am not creating models and characters for work, I am usually doing so for personal projects or learning new software and techniques! Outside of that I love video games, D&D, reading comics, listening to music, and spending time with others!
